Il Covid torna a far paura nelle LTC, un morto

TORONTO – Nelle case di cura dell’Ontario si torna a morire. Non ce l’ha fatta un residente di The Village of Tansley Woods Long-Term Care Home che aveva contratto il Covid-19, la variante Delta per essere precisi. On Tuesday, health officials in Bangladesh logged 11,525 new infections, the highest single day increase since the onset of the pandemic. Of the cumulative 966,406 confirmed positive cases, 87.4% are considered recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by 163, one less than the record high reported the day prior.

Who is Mary Simon, named 30th governor general of Canada

TORONTO – Mary Simon (in the pic) is Canada’s new Governor General. This was announced today by Justin Trudeau, who, with the appointment of the Queen’s new representative, wanted to send out a very precise political signal. Simon is in fact an Inuk leader, representative of the indigenous peoples of Canada and his appointment comes at a time of general rethinking of the history of our country, in particular the federal government’s treatment of Aboriginal people in the past.
