TORONTO – Carpenters’ strike in the ICI sector will be continuing into its third week as of Tuesday May 24th, 2022.
Carpenters’ Union Local 27 and DALI Local 675 are picketing today, May 20th, 2022 at Woodbine Racetrack and Casino (located at the intersection of Rexdale Blvd. and Highway 27) since 6:00 AM and they invite people to come out and show support for the Carpenters’.
“Come stand in solidarity with us – Mike Yorke, President and Director of Public Affairs & Innovation of Carpenters District Council of Ontario, says – to help fight for a fair wage increase to address the skyrocketing cost of living. Any and all support is encouraged. Let’s all hold the line together!”.
Carpenters recently picketed at The Well and CIBC Square projects (in the pics above, some of the members). “Our next generation of Carpenters as seen in these pics – Mike Yorke explains – are very committed to our industry, our union and our next generation of apprentices , ensuring that construction and Carpentry is a viable career path for the young men and women that will be building Ontario communities”.
