Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

Who knows if the aphorism is also valid for the former mayors of Toronto – including David Crombie, Art Eggleton, John Sewell, Barbara Hall and David Miller – who wrote a letter to mayor John Tory asking him to “reject” the provincial law that will give him more powers, in particular that of passing laws with only the support of the minority. TORONTO – It seems that “experts” have entered the debate on the charade that has come to define “human rights” issues at the Halton District School Board (HDSB). Not to put too fine a point on it, the school board and its administration are either incompetent fools or they have drunk the proverbial Kool Aid.
TORONTO – I negoziati tra governo dell’Ontario e CUPE sono “a un punto morto” ed è difficile aspettarsi una svolta a breve termine ma il ministro Lecce (nella foto sopra, dal suo profilo Instagram) spera ancora in un accordo dell’ultimo minuto. La posta in gioco è scongiurare uno sciopero dei 55.000 aderenti al Canadian Union of Public Employees che causerebbe già a partire da lunedì la chiusura di tutte le scuole della provincia. “Speriamo davvero che queste trattative vadano avanti anche nei prossimi giorni, ci aspettiamo che ci siano negoziati“, ha detto ieri Lecce a CP24 – in fondo nonostante il preavviso di sciopero, possiamo ancora avere colloqui produttivi e questo è proprio quello che sto cercando di fare”…
