Ricoveri in continua crescita e altri 28 morti in Ontario

TORONTO – Continua a crescere il numero dei pazienti ricoverati negli ospedali dell’Ontario per (il 45%) o con (il 55%) il Covid-19. Ieri, per la prima volta dalla metà di febbraio, siamo arrivati a quota 1.662, dai 1.486 di martedì e dai 1.301 di lunedì. 203 i pazienti nelle terapie intensive (l’altro ieri erano 206: il 59% è in ICU a causa del virus, il 41% per altri motivi ed è risultato positivo al Covid-19 al momento del test di ingresso in ospedale). On Wednesday, health officials in Russia logged 9,915 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 18.1 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 96.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 223 Covid-related deaths for a total of 374,171 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Masks, different opinions and controversy

TORONTO – Masks yes or masks no? After the easing of restrictions in Ontario no longer require masks in most facilities, the controversy goes crazy. On the one hand there are those who cannot do without the protection guaranteed by masks, on the other hand those who could not wait to get rid of them, and to wear them, now that the government has removed the obligation, do not want to hear about them. And so while Uber Canada will no longer require customers to use them starting Friday, Toronto-based taxi company Beck Taxi has decided to continue to impose their use. 

Italians may hold the key to a 3-way race in Hamilton district

A fairly new district, Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas was created in 2015 and situated west of “the Mountain”. The constituency covers a span of 100 square km and encompasses the communities of Ancaster and Dundas.

As of 2016, the riding had a population of 113,025. The area is a popular place to call home for many ethnic groups. Italians, at 12% of the district population, are one of the largest cultural groups which originate from Europe.
