Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of April 7, 2022, at 5:00pm EST.

On Thursday, health officials in the UK logged 29,229 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 21.5 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 90.5% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 317 Covid-related deaths for a total of 169,412 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Covid-19, a new surge in cases and hospitalizations

TORONTO – New leap forward in hospitalizations today in Ontario: 1,126 people in hospital with Covid-19, compared to 1,074 just 24 hours earlier. The last time the count was so high was on February 19, when the number of inpatients was 1,191. On the other hand, the number of patients in intensive care fell, from 168 yesterday to 159 today. But the number of pandemic deaths remains high: another 16 today, bringing the total in Ontario from the beginning to 12,527. →

Dailiy update of Ontario’s Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign

With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 32.0 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on April 7, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 10,635 vaccine doses on Wednesday, up from 8,664 doses the day prior.

Le visite ai pronto soccorso degli ospedali di bambini con sintomi gravi sono in salita rispetto all’inizio della pandemia due anni fa.
