Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

On Sunday, health officials in Poland logged 38 new infections, the lowest daily increase throughout the whole pandemic. Of the cumulative 2.8 million confirmed positive cases, 92.1% are considered recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by 1, bringing the country’s total fatalities to 75,085.
TORONTO – July 5, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,417,415 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 473 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 26,363 total deaths, 3 more than Sunday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,385,096. (more…)
The lack of staff in nursing homes is the sore point and the problem inevitably has an impact on poor care for the elderly. This is the complaint of Andrea Horwath who today, during a conference in Ottawa, reiterated the need for an urgent increase in staff so that every resident can receive a minimum of four hours of assistance every day. A goal, which Doug Ford has assured, can be achieved in 2025. (more…)
TORONTO – In exactly two months, the new school year will begin, and in Ontario the plan for re-entry is still a huge question mark. In recent months, the provincial government and in particular the Public Education Minister Stephen Lecce have put aside all the problems created by the Covid-19 pandemic in the school sector to devote themselves to something else.
