Ontario, hospitalizations doubled in 20 days

TORONTO – Hospitalizations with or due to Covid-19 continue to increase. Today, infected patients in Ontario hospitals reached 1,090, against 977 on Sunday but above all against 551 on March 22, just twenty days ago. Intensive care admissions are also growing: now 184 beds are occupied by Covid inpatients, compared to 173 today. Some patients are hospitalized due to Covid-19, others for different reasons and test positive at the time of the hospital admission swab (so they are inpatiens with Covid-19).

TORONTO – 1.188 ricoveri Covid negli ospedali dell’Ontario sabato, 977 ieri: una diminuzione che non deve ingannare, perché di domenica il 10% degli ospedali non fornisce aggiornamenti. Ma nonostante l’incompletezza dei dati, cresce comunque il numero dei pazienti nelle terapie intensive: +5 in 24 ore, con il totale che va a 173 (+4% rispetto alla settimana precedente), dei quali 88 respirano con l’ausilio di un ventilatore. Covid patients in ICUs are on the rise

TORONTO – 1,188 Covid hospitalizations in Ontario on Saturday, 977 today: a decrease that should not be deceiving, because on Sunday 10% of hospitals do not provide updates. But despite the incompleteness of the data, the number of patients in intensive care is still growing: +5 in 24 hours, with the total going to 173 (+ 4% compared to the previous week), of which 88 are breathing with the help of a fan. On a weekly basis, hospitalizations for (or with) Covid-19 increased by nearly 22%: seven days ago, there were 763 Covid patients in Ontario hospitals. →
