Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of June 3, 2021 at 6:30pm EST.

On Thursday, Germany logged 3,686 new infections in the last 24-hours bringing the total cases count to more than 3.7 million since the start of the pandemic. Of the cumulative total of confirmed positive cases, 95.1% are considered recovered. In the last day, Covid-related deaths increased by 95 for a total of 89,605 fatalities. (more…)

Um novo programa de pesquisa vai distribuir 50 000 kits de autoteste do VIH (Vírus da imunodeficiência humana) gratuitos em todo o Canadá para chegar a pessoas não diagnosticadas e colocá-las em contacto com serviços de assistência, com o objetivo de identificar fatores que afetam o acesso a testes e cuidados e, em última instância, acabar com a epidemia do VIH no Canadá.

A new research program will distribute 50,000 free HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) self-testing kits across Canada to reach people who are undiagnosed and get them connected to care, with the goal of identifying factors that affect access to testing and care and ultimately, ending Canada’s HIV epidemic.

În Italia 2.897 de infecții și 62 de decese, 1,3% pozitivitate

ROMA – În Italia, curba infecțiilor și a victimelor, în cel de-al treilea val al pandemiei Covid-19, scade de la o zi la alta. Ieri s-au înregistrat 2.897 de cazuri noi de infecție cu coronavirus, găsite după analiza a 226.272 teste, cu indicele pozitiv de 1,3%. În ultimele 24 de ore, au fost înregistrate alte 62 de decese, în scădere față de 93 inregistrate marți, ceea ce a însemnat ca numărul total de decese este de 126.283 de la începutul pandemiei. In March 2020, “Penelope” developed a pimple after working out at the gym.  Then the pandemic hit.  And for over a year like countless others, she would experience “Maskne” ( – acne breakouts from having to wear a face mask for hours on end.  Penelope’s pimple never went away, nor did it ever evolve.  But after a year of living with that bump on her face, Penelope knew there was something wrong.
