Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

Health officials in India logged 91,227 new infections in the last 24-hours. The additional cases pushed the official national tally of positive cases over 29 million. Of the cumulative total, 94.5% are considered recovered. In the last day, Covid-related deaths increased by 2,213 for a total of 353,557 fatalities.

TORONTO – June 8, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,395,015 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 869 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 25,786 total deaths, 25 more than on Monday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,347,274. Ontario today reached 537,076 overall positives, an increase of 469 new cases compared to Monday. →
